Description from the seller
Majestic Venetian Baroque Mirror Finely Lacquered and Carved
Important high-representation Venetian mirror, richly hand-carved and embellished with a refined lacquered decoration featuring delicate polychrome floral motifs. The sumptuous structure is characterized by an exuberant, full-Baroque shaped frame with scenographic volutes, rocaille and finely sculpted curls, crowned at the top by a pediment adorned with a raised angelic face. The inner band is further enriched by a carved bead molding, while the lower part culminates in the center with a decorative grotesque mask of great expressiveness. The center mirror is shaped to reflect light, enhancing the magnificence of the whole, supported at the back by a solid original wooden frame with vertical slats.
