Description from the seller
Märklin 43767-43769: Complete FernExpress FD 1980 “Königssee” of the DB
Set 43767:
3-piece passenger car set of the legendary FernExpress FD 1980 “Königssee” of the Deutsche Bundesbahn (DB) from Era IV (operational condition 1988). The set was released as an MHI-exclusive model (Märklin Dealer Initiative).
The set represents the train run from Berchtesgaden to Hamburg-Altona.
1 half-d dining car (type ARmz 211.0) – partially redesigned with mfx digital decoder.
2 compartment/large-capacity cars (type Bpmz 291.2, 2nd class) – car numbers 65 and 277 (revenue car Klagenfurt–Hamburg).
Digital & sound: The mfx decoder installed in the dining car controls extensive light and sound functions.
Lighting: Factory-fitted LED interior lighting and train-end lighting. The table lamps, the large-capacity car, the dining room, and the kitchen area are digitally individually switchable.
Flashing protection: Each car has built-in buffer capacitors to bridge short-term power interruptions.
Current supply: Equipped with separable, power-carrying track couplings, so the power supply to the other cars is controlled via the dining car.
Layout compatibility: Designed for Märklin’s three-rail AC system (3L-AC) with a minimum radius of 360 mm
Set 43767:
The set consists of two different express train cars:
1x compartment car of type Avmz 111.1 (1st class).
1x large-capacity car of type Bpmz 291.2 (2nd class) with the distinctive, detailed “Kinderland” compartment.
Lighting & tech: Both cars come from the factory with built-in LED interior lighting and an integrated buffer capacitor that bridges short, powerless sections on the tracks without flicker.
Couplings: Equipped with separable, power-carrying semi-automatic couplings. The interior lighting is powered centrally through the dining car when the train runs in formation (therefore the prescribed sequence of cars must be maintained).
Design & details: authentic, type-specific design of bogies, roofs, side walls, and underframes. The car run plates and road numbers are finely printed.
Dimensions: The minimum usable track radius is 360 mm. The total length over buffers for both cars together is about 56.4 cm.
Supplementary Car 43769:
Passenger car (large-capacity car type Bpmz 291.2, 2nd class).
Gauge & power system: HO scale (1:87) for the alternating current system (AC).
Coloring: Classic Ocean Blue/Elfenbein in Era IV.
Lighting: Factory-fitted LED interior lighting including an integrated buffer capacitor to flicker-free bridge short, powerless sections.
Couplings: Separable, power-carrying semi-automatic couplings. The interior lighting operates in conjunction with the dining car from set 43767.
Details: Multicolor interior, type-specific underbody, MD 52 bogies, and printed car run plates with the road number 64.
Dimensions: Length over buffers (LüP) 28.2 cm; the minimum usable radius is 360 mm.
The car serves as an ideal addition to faithfully reproduce the complete FD “Königssee.”
As this is a limited edition, the model is often out of stock in regular retail.
Models are in like-new condition.
