Splendid and elegant vintage bed set (1940s), expression of the highest Italian artisanal tradition of handmade bedding. The set is entirely crocheted in geometric filet, made completely by hand in Murano (Venice) and consists of a bedspread and two coordinated cushion covers, made in white 100% cotton medium-thick yarn, extremely stable and substantial.
The bedspread is composed of no fewer than 1184 circular motifs with floral patterns (stylized roses/daisies) geometrically joined by crochet. Measures 295 cm in length by 215 cm in width. It is completed with two cushions each made up of 108 floral motifs identical to those of the blanket; dimensions: 80 cm x 55 cm.
Total weight of the lot: 2394 grams (testifies to the density and quality of the thread of the era).
It has been preserved for over 90 years in impeccable condition and is truly beautiful, precious and suitable for any decor (as well as being a small masterpiece for collectors).
