Description from the seller

Prestigious] Rare Pendule-Clock Lenzkirch Neo-Renaissance Gründerzeit – 100% Functional – With its Original Wall Console – Exceptionally Rare (circa 1880)

Masterpiece of the famous Black Forest manufacture, this extremely rare table (or travel) pendulum clock in the Gründerzeit / Neo-Renaissance style is signed by the prestigious Lenzkirch (A.G.U.) house, dating from the 1880s-1890s.
It is an exceptional ensemble, complete with its original solid wood wall console matching, an exceedingly rare fact in the art market where consoles are almost always lost or mismatched.
Exceptional condition and operation:
• Mechanism: Fully original, tested and 100% functional (movement and alarm). The movement starts perfectly and keeps time. The winding keys integrated rotate freely.
• Functions: Double antique complication with timekeeping movement (GEHWERK) and alarm/alert function (WECKER). The chime operates clearly and smoothly on a beautiful bell timbre (metal gong with a cup) located under the base of the clock.
• Authenticity guaranteed: The white enamel dial (with no major cracks) as well as the brass backplate bear the official Lenzkirch hallmark on the fir branch with the initials A.G.U. (Aktiengesellschaft für Uhrenfabrikation Lenzkirch). Presence of the exclusive legal inscription “GESETZL. GESCHÜTZT.”
• Cabinetmaking: Architectural case in solid walnut/oak, richly carved, adorned with a hand-worked fish-scale dome and a turned wooden apex arrow. The clock rests on four superb bronze patinated feet in the shape of lion claws.

An item in period cosmetics, preserved in an authentic and functional condition. A simple maintenance oiling or routine adjustment can be performed by the future buyer according to preferences, but the mechanism is sound and runs perfectly.

A unique opportunity for demanding collectors to acquire a German antique clock piece, in a working and museum-fresh condition."}
