The Amarone della Valpolicella aged in barrel, hailing from the Veneto wine region, presents in the glass with a dense ruby red color. With a slight tilt of the glass, the red wine reveals at the rim an enchanting garnet-red tone. After the first swirl, this red wine displays high viscosity, manifested as pronounced tears on the glass. This Italian cuvée flatters the glass with wonderful, intense expressive notes of cooked plums, sour cherries, raisins, and prunes. Hints of other fruits are added.
Fasoli Gino Amarone della Valpolicella excites with its elegantly dry taste profile. It was bottled with just 2.1 grams of residual sugar. As one would expect from a premium wine, this Italian captivates, despite its dryness, with a very fine balance. The aroma does not necessarily require a lot of sugar. On the palate this intensely colored red wine stands out for an incredibly velvety texture. Thanks to its lively fruit acidity, the Amarone della Valpolicella presents itself on the palate wonderfully fresh and lively. The finish of this red wine, with excellent aging potential and hailing from the Veneto wine region, more precisely from the Valpolicella DOC, finally conquers with a notably persistent aftertaste.
Vinification of Fasoli Gino Amarone della Valpolicella
The starting point for Fasoli Gino’s Amarone della Valpolicella cuvée, first class and wonderfully powerful, are the grapes Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella. After harvest, the grapes are immediately brought to the winery. Here they are carefully selected and pressed. This is followed by fermentation in small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the organic Amarone della Valpolicella is aged for several months in oak barriques.
Food pairing for Fasoli Gino Amarone della Valpolicella
Enjoy this organic Italian red ideally served at 15 - 18°C as an accompaniment to chickpea curry, vegetables stewed with pesto, or pasta with sausage meatballs.
