Madeira wood antique display cabinet in the late 19th‑century Luís XV revival style, 200 cm high, 165 cm wide, 32 cm deep, with a top section of three glazed doors (central door wider) and two levels of glass shelves, and a base with two side doors and a central open compartment, in good condition.
Description from the seller
Top section presents three doors, the central one wider, with upper crosspieces of softly arched profile. The interior features two levels of glass shelves and backs lined with fabric in a vegetalist pattern, in light tones and golds, providing a decorative backdrop for displaying porcelains, silverware or collectible objects.
The stiles are enriched with carved elements of wavy design, volutes and foliage. The crown extends over three ogee pediments, with the central one, higher, featuring a composition of scrolls and shell motifs.
The base includes two padded side doors and a central open compartment, divided by a shelf. It rests on small feet with a flattened profile. The contrast between the different wood tones highlights the moldings and the symmetric arrangement of the façade.
The ornamentation sits within the nineteenth-century revivalism of the D. José style, inspired by Portuguese Rococo.
