Description from the seller
The Sony TC-199SD is a classic vintage stereo cassette deck, produced in Japan by Sony (circa 1976–1978). The deck hails from the golden era of Japanese hi-fi and visually and technically nods seamlessly to the amplifiers and tuners from the same series (such as the TA-2650 and ST-2950F). Characteristic for this model are the solid brushed aluminum front panel, the large illuminated analog VU meters, and the exceptionally sturdy mechanical piano-key control.
Technical: The TC-199SD features Sony's durable Ferrite & Ferrite (F&F) recording/playback head, known for long life and clear signal transfer with minimal wear. In addition, the deck is equipped with Dolby NR noise reduction, an adjustable band switch (suitable for Normal, Fe-Cr and CrO2 tapes) and separate front microphone inputs for analog stereo recordings.
The unit is supplied as a standalone cassette deck.
Condition:
Nice vintage condition with normal signs of use consistent with age on the front panel and housing. The unit has been electrically tested and is functioning; playback, fast-forward/rewind, illumination and VU meters operate as they should.
