Description from the seller
An ornamental panel made on an ancient carved and pierced wooden silhouette (19th century), probably belonging to a piece of furniture or an architectural element. The structure, as seen from the back photos, preserves the patina and the original construction features. The central roundel depicts an architectural capriccio with classical ruins, in keeping with late Baroque taste and style, and has been entirely hand-painted by the Italian decorator Pierluigi Farolfi, born in Florence in 1933 and still living, who has been active for decades in the field of artistic decoration. The work represents the meeting between an authentic historical support and a refined painting intervention carried out according to the Italian decorative tradition.
