Antique French‑style writing table in Italy dating to the 1940s–1950s, with a dark veined marble top, walnut veneer and brass gilt mounts, front drawer, and cabriole legs, measuring 54 cm deep, 84 cm high and 97 cm wide, in good condition with minor signs of aging.
Description from the seller
Antique French-Style Writing Table / Console Table with Marble Top – 19th Century
Elegant antique console table featuring a rectangular dark marble top with variegated veining and shaped, rounded corners. The wooden structure is decorated with contrasting walnut veneer panels and fitted with a front drawer featuring two ornamental metal handles.
The table stands on slender cabriole legs, with decorative gilt-bronze mounts featuring foliate motifs at the full length front legs and corners. The curved apron and refined proportions are characteristic of the Louis XV-inspired style, reflecting the taste for elegant and decorative furniture of the 19th century.
The warm-toned walnut veneer, dark marble surface and gilt-bronze details create a sophisticated contrast.
It is well-reserved with all original parts. The condition is very great for its age, despite of some minimal scratches of age and use (as can be seen on the photos).
Presented of some moth holes, mainly on the back legs (seen on photos)
Measurement:
Depth 54cm x Height 83.5cm x Width 97cm
