Description from the seller
Rare Vintage Art Deco Porcelain Tea/Coffee Set (8 Cups & 8 Saucers) - Suisse Langenthal (1931-1932)
An elegant and highly collectible vintage Swiss porcelain tea/coffee service for two, manufactured by the prestigious Porzellanfabrik Langenthal AG in Switzerland.
This set captures the refined aesthetics of the early Art Deco era. Crafted from fine white porcelain, each piece features a delicate, hand-finished garland motif of small flowers, green foliage, and berries, framed by a classic gilded gold rim.
A significant value of this lot lies in the distinct factory marks on the reverse sides. The undersides bear the authentic underglaze green "Suisse Langenthal" shield mark, accompanied by the factory's signature year-imprint codes:
• "31" (imprinted on the saucer) – indicating the year of production as 1931
• "32" (imprinted on the cup) – indicating the year of production as 1932
The pieces also feature hand-painted red artisan/pattern numbers, proving their authentic early 20th-century craftsmanship.
