Description from the seller
MYOTT « THE HUNTER »
Elegant 16-piece English tableware set in blue-toned hunting decor
Magnificent 16-piece English earthenware set, signed MYOTT, the renowned Staffordshire manufacturer, presenting the charming decors "THE HUNTER" (Le Chasseur).
Each piece reveals a true pastoral life scene, inspired by rural England of the 18th and 19th centuries.
In the foreground, a hunter in antique attire, accompanied by his faithful hound, walks through a lush landscape. Further on, a woman and children animate this bucolic composition, while another silhouette appears near the inn.
On the right stands a picturesque half-timbered traditional house, with its small-paned windows, chimney and a sign depicting a swan, bearing the inscription "THE SWAN".
In the background, rolling countryside, majestic trees and a church spire complete this delicious scene of old England.
The whole forms a narrative and particularly charming decor, where hunting tradition, village life, architectural heritage and rural romance mingle.
A fine English earthenware with blue-and-white decor
The slightly lively outlines of the plates and the generously deep shapes of the bowls further reinforce the traditional and elegant character of this service.
Composition of the service – 16 pieces
- 12 deep plates, diameter: 22 cm.
- 4 deep, cup-shaped plates of notably deep form, diameter: 21 cm, height: 6.5 cm.
