Impressive specimen with lilac/purple crystals
Size 26 x 22 x 12 cm, Weight: 6 kg.
The specimen is crystallized on all sides (floaters) and partially fused with coarse calcite and calcite crystals. Additionally, on one side numerous small barite crystals have grown (and various other minerals). The crystal edges are partly naturally rounded.
We acquired this piece many years ago for our private collection because of its imposing size and intense color, but without specific locality information! Probably from Illinois / USA ??
Perhaps a knowledgeable collector could, based on the crystal associations, assign it to a particular locality?
