Vintage Swiza mechanical desk clock in the shape of a key, made in Switzerland circa 1960, with an eight‑day power reserve, a brass‑gold finish and a black metal stem, measuring 12.5 cm by 5.5 cm by 1 cm and weighing 350 g, in excellent working order with no striking sound.
Description from the seller
Vintage Swiza desk clock in the shape of a key – 8-day power reserve – gilded brass – Swiss Made – circa 1960
Rare and original mechanical desk clock made in Switzerland by the watchmaking manufacturer Swiza, dating from the 1960s. With its unusual silhouette in the shape of an old key, this object pairs traditional Swiss watchmaking with the decorative aesthetic of Mid-Century design.
This model features an 8-day power reserve, a desirable attribute for a mechanical desk alarm clock, reducing the frequency of rewinds.
The key head houses a circular dial surrounded by a fluted golden bezel. The dial, in satin anthracite gray, bears bold black Roman numerals and elegant hands. The long black stem ends with a finely cut gilded brass bit, enhancing the illusion of a genuine antique key.
The combination of gold metal, black elements, and the dark dial gives this alarm clock a striking decorative presence. Part functional object, part collectible, it naturally finds its place on a desk, a bookshelf, or in a curiosity cabinet.
