Moser & Söhne - Vase - Glass - antique Bohemian vase

Exquisite antique Bohemian showpiece vase – Historicism circa 1880/1890
For sale is a museum-grade and magnificent cabinet vase from the late 19th century.
The noble collectible is attributed to the renowned Bohemian glassworks Moser (Karlovy Vary) or to the fine Bohemian school of this era.

Glass Art & Technique: It is a masterfully crafted triple-layered overlaid glass (Triple Overlay) in deep cobalt blue and opal white. The layers have been intricately pierced with an elaborate shell-cut to reveal the underlying clear crystal glass.

Decoration: The vase is lavishly adorned all around with a relief-like gilt surface. The Historicist ornaments, floral acanthus and Baroque rosettes are executed in the finest handwork.

Mouth & Base: The upper rim features an extraordinary, wave-cut contour. The base displays the characteristic, smoothly polished pontil mark as well as precisely faceted cuts.

Details & Dimensions:
• Height: ca. 18 cm
• Epoch: Historicism / Gründerzeit (ca. 1880–1890)
• Origin: Bohemia (Czech Republic)
• Signature: Unmarked (completely typical for this period, as back then paper labels were often used).

Excellent Collector’s Condition:
The vase is in an exceptional, pristine top condition for its age.
No chips, hairline cracks or flea bites – not even at the delicate edges of the mouth rim.
No gold wear! The fine gilding is robust and brilliantly preserved all around (bright spots in photos are merely reflections of light on the glass).
An absolute highlight for collectors of Bohemian art glass and a noble eye-catcher for any antique collection.
