AI-assisted summary
Description from the seller
Refined Italian chest of drawers from the 1940s, expression of the refined taste of Art Deco, characterized by a splendid burr walnut veneer with intense, deep, and dramatic grain.
The front is adorned with natural patterns of great decorative effect, with symmetric motifs and shading that alternate warm amber tones with darker nuances, creating an overall of remarkable charm.
The structure presents soft, rounded lines, chamfered corners, sober sides and a top with sinuous shapes.
The piece rests on a solid contoured base, embellished with elegant moldings that recall the stylistic language of the era.
The chest features four spacious drawers, characterized by an harmonious arrangement of the grain and equipped with classic-style handles, paired with lock escutcheons that further enhance the front.
The richness of the burl wood makes each drawer an integral part of the decorative composition, giving the piece a strong aesthetic identity.
The sides, clad in wood with a warm and uniform tone, also contribute to the overall balance of the piece, while the workmanship of the corners and the base testifies to the care given to proportions and details.
A chest of drawers with strong visual presence, ideal for furnishing an elegant bedroom, an important entryway or a refined living room.
The visual preciousness of the walnut burl and the typical shapes of the 1940s make it a piece of furniture capable of standing out in both classical environments and contemporary contexts, where it can become a refined contrasting element.
