Set of 3 original Flötotto Pagholz stacking shell chairs from Germany, designed by Elmar Flötotto, dating to the 1960s, with formed Pagholz wood shells and chrome steel frames, stackable, approximately 76 cm high, 52 cm wide, 42 cm deep, in good vintage condition with minor wear and original factory markings (logo FLÖTOTTO).
Description from the seller
Set of 3 original vintage Flötotto chairs, produced in Germany, dated to around the 1960s.
The chairs feature distinctive, ergonomically contoured one-piece shells made from molded Pagholz/Pagwood layered wood and chrome-plated frames in a skid-like form. The construction allows stacking of the chairs.
Originality is confirmed by preserved manufacturer markings. On the metal mounting plate of one chair there is a clearly embossed FLÖTOTTO logo. A circular factory stamp is also preserved on the wooden shell.
The design of this type of Flötotto/Pagholz chairs from the 60s is often attributed to the designer Adam Stegner.
The set comprises 3 chairs of the same model and construction. The individual shells naturally vary in grain and wood shade, giving each chair its own character.
Approximate dimensions: overall height about 76 cm, width about 52 cm. Exact measurements are also shown in the photographs.
The chairs are in good, original vintage condition, appropriate for their age. Signs of prior use are visible, including surface scratches, scuffs, minor edge/finish chips on the wooden shells, and normal signs of use on the metal frames. Differences and signs of wear are shown in the photos.
Based on visual inspection, no serious structural damage is evident. The chairs retain their original character and have not been overly restored.
The auction includes all 3 chairs shown in the photographs.
Please examine the photographs carefully, as they are an integral part of the description and show the actual condition of each chair.
