Romano-Egyptian bronze Serapis bust, hollow cast with a conical modius and draped on acanthus leaves, about 12.8 cm high and dating to circa 1st–2nd century AD, with a green patina and azurites and possible inlaid eyes, provenance from the United Kingdom with a Spanish export licence.
Description from the seller
Hollow cast with a full beard, long moustache and hair with characteristic wavy locks on the foreahead, surmonunted by a conical modius engraved with olove springs. The drapped bust supported on acanthus leaves. It is possible that the eyes were once inlaid. A casting fault under the beard on the proper left hand side.

*Green patina with azurites under the chin
Provenance: Gustave Mustaki, Alexandria, Egypt; exported from Egypt to the UK under licence c. 1950 / Elsa MacLellan, Portsmouth, UK; by descent from the above private collection, London, UK / C. E., London, 2019
