Abdoulaye Derme - Figure - Taureau de force - Patinated bronze

This sculpture represents a stylized bull, created using the traditional lost-wax technique by bronze artisans from Burkina Faso. With its clean lines, its massive body, and its dynamic stance, this piece illustrates the know-how of West African bronze workshops.

Its green patina enhanced with touches of gold gives it a unique character and highlights its volumes. Surface irregularities, color variations, and slight imperfections attest to its entirely artisanal execution, making each exemplar unique.

Ideal as a decorative object or for a collection, this sculpture fits equally well in a contemporary interior as in a setting devoted to African arts.
