Description from the seller
An exceptionally beautiful and characterful specimen of Otodus megalodon from South Carolina, USA. This tooth has a stunning natural olive-green to gold-brown color in the enamel, with distinct vertical lines running along the crown. Especially the combination of the light crown with the dark central part gives this tooth a very striking appearance.
The serrations are present around the crown and beautifully fine in texture. The tip is well formed and the overall shape of the crown is nicely symmetrical.
A real eye-catcher is the section between the crown and the root. Here there is a dark, almost black color accent visible with clear natural vertical structure. The tooth also has a very large and robust dark gray root, with a beautiful natural, rough texture. The root gives the specimen a powerful and sturdy appearance.
What makes this tooth extra interesting is that it is fully natural and unrestored. There are no artificial restorations or additions made.
A beautiful and very characterful South Carolina Megalodon specimen that sits excellently in a serious fossil collection.
