A set of two Belgian earthenware Art Deco vases, model 30 by Faïencerie de Thulin België, 29 cm high with a base of 15.5 x 10.5 cm, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
A splendid and harmonious pair of Belgian Art Deco vases (set of two), produced by the renowned Faïencerie de Thulin. It concerns the iconic and highly sought-after model number 30, characterized by an organic, tulip-shaped cup and two elegantly stylized, openworked ears that extend to the square base. The design balances beautifully at the transition from flowing Art Nouveau to the crisper Art Deco geometry.
The vases are executed in a masterful, multicolored drip glaze (glauces flambés). The vivid colors blend organically: from a deep, glossy cobalt blue at the bottom, through flowing bands of ochre and cream, to a warm, contrasting brown tint on the inside and the undulating top edge. Because this glaze process developed manually and organically in the kiln, each piece is unique, while they form a pair that colors perfectly together.
Both vases are relief-marked on the bottom with the factory mark "MADE IN BELGIUM", the model number "30" and an internal factory letter (including the letter "F" or "M" of the designer/assembler).
In excellent condition - 29 cm high.
