Wonderful and highly detailed 1:18-scale model produced by Minichamps in 2003, reproducing the legendary Maserati Tipo 61 'Birdcage' driven by Carroll Shelby with race number 98 at the Times Mirror Grand Prix for Sportscars in 1960. As a piece with over twenty years of history, the miniature stands out for an exceptional level of detail for its time, including a faithful reproduction of the space-frame tubular chassis, the highly wired engine bay with visible manifolds and throttles, opening doors, technical cockpit with dedicated instrumentation, and top-end collectible finishes.
