Obverse
Portrait of Gustave Eiffel in front of the arch of the tower bearing his name. The portrait has been worked so that facial features, hair and clothing are made of rivets, as if Gustave Eiffel himself merged with the metal structures he envisioned throughout his life.
Reverse
The reverse of the coin is occupied by representations of some of the architect's major works.
In its center, the Eiffel Tower seen from above divides the drawing into several zones. In the space on the left, the Statue of Liberty reveals its framework in transparency. Above the summit of the tower, the Garabit viaduct is recognizable. On the right is depicted the plan of the airplane imagined by Gustave Eiffel, the LE. Finally, beneath the tower one finds the Maria Pia Bridge of Porto crossing the face value.
