Description from the seller
David Hockney
*1937 Bradford/UK - 2026 London
was a British painter, graphic artist, stage designer and photographer. He is regarded as an influential artist of the 20th century with the genre focuses of landscape painting and portraiture. Hockney is often described as a leading figure associated with Pop Art, yet he has his own distinctive artistic profile.
His works fetch high prices at auctions. For example, his painting “Portrait of an Artist (Pool with Two Figures, 1972)” sold at Christie’s on November 15, 2018 for 90.3 million US dollars. Until 2019 it was the most expensive painting by a living artist ever sold at auction worldwide.

Artist posters are posters designed by visual artists (in the traditional sense) mainly for self-promotion, for example to announce their exhibition in a museum or gallery. The posters are usually produced and distributed in a predominantly small print run (typically about 100–200 copies).
Particularly artist-signed posters are very rare and offer collectors a supreme investment with great potential for appreciation.
Long established in the art world, by the 1960s and 1970s in the USA and Europe there were already dedicated poster museums, and major museums such as the Modern Art Museum or the Guggenheim Museum in New York dedicated themselves to pure artist posters exhibitions, whose importance is also reflected in the poster catalogs of many renowned artists.
