AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Description:
A very fine and complete 4-piece antique brass smoking set in the characteristic style of the renowned Dutch goldsmith and designer Jan Eisenloeffel (1876-1957). Manufactured during the heyday of Dutch Nieuwe Kunst (Art Nouveau) and early Amsterdam School, circa 1905-1910.

The set is made of solid brass and is adorned around with the iconic, stamped geometric grid or 'window motif' that is so characteristic of Eisenloeffel. As is very common for the early (semi-)industrial mass production of this period (among others for shops such as De Woning), the objects are unobtrusive in appearance. The recognizable design and construction, however, leave no doubt about the attribution (attrib.).

The set consists of:

Triangular tray: Width 25 cm (equipped with three originally mounted ball feet)
Lucifer matchbox holder with waste bin: Height 11 cm
Large cup (cigars/tobacco): Height 8 cm
Low dish (ashtray): Height 5 cm

Condition:
In good, original antique condition. The brass has, over the decades, developed a beautiful, well-worn patina (especially on the underside of the panel). The interior of the match holder shows light soot traces from historical use, which contributes to the authentic character. No restorations or dents. Please view the photos carefully for an accurate impression of the condition.

Shipping:
This lot is packed with the utmost care and professionally wrapped (ample bubble wrap and placed in a sturdy box). The shipping is carried out via a reliable courier service, fully insured and provided with a Track & Trace code, so you can safely track the shipment to your doorstep.
