Description from the seller
Mandible Fossil with Teeth - Mosasaurus beaugei - 32 cm
Excellent section of fossil jaw belonging to a Mosasaurus beaugei, a formidable apex marine predator that dominated the oceans during the Late Cretaceous.
This piece stands out for its excellent overall preservation, presenting a continuous alignment of 11 preserved teeth with their characteristic shiny enamel in amber-brown tones and clearly defined conical crowns. The bony structure of the jaw preserves the fossil's original rough texture.
It is an ideal piece for paleontology collectors, private museums, or as a high-end decorative element.
Conservation: Original teeth mounted in prepared/consolidated fossil matrix. It shows wear and restorations/consolidations typical for this type of paleontological piece from the Khouribga area.
Important note about the lot: The wooden base/board shown in the photographs was used solely for photographic purposes and is NOT included in the sale of the lot.
