Description from the seller

Christofle Alfénide – Pompadour – 24-Piece Silver-Plated Fish Cutlery Set for 12 Persons – France – Mid-20th Century – Original Christofle Presentation Case

An elegant 24-piece silver-plated fish cutlery set for 12 persons, manufactured by the renowned French silverware house Christofle, from its Alfénide collection, in the beautiful Pompadour pattern.

This refined set consists of 12 fish forks and 12 fish knives, presented in a vintage Christofle fitted presentation case.

Christofle & Alfénide

Founded in Paris in 1830 by Charles Christofle, the prestigious French silverware house became internationally renowned for its exceptional craftsmanship, innovative silver-plating techniques and elegant tableware.

Alfénide was a historic French silver-plated tableware brand associated with Christofle, recognised for its quality and traditional French designs.

The Pompadour pattern is inspired by the elegance of French 18th-century decorative arts and the Louis XV style, characterised by graceful curves, delicate Rococo-inspired ornamentation and beautifully shaped handles.

The handles feature elegant, flowing contours with subtle scrollwork and decorative flourishes, giving the cutlery a sophisticated yet timeless appearance.

Design & Decoration

The fish forks have four broad, carefully shaped tines, while the matching fish knives feature wide, gently curved blades specifically designed for separating and serving delicate fish.

The polished silver-plated surfaces beautifully reflect the light, while the finely decorated handles add a distinguished touch to any dining table.

This classic French design is particularly suitable for an elegant seafood dinner, festive table setting or a traditional art de la table presentation.
