Description from the seller

Mawlay Abd al-Aziz (1894-1908 AD).
Paris mint.
½ Dirham (Silver, 15 mm, 1.41 g).
Obv: ضرب بباريز سنة ("Struck in Paris in the year"), in groups divided by arrowheads around a six-pointed star in a circle with a central pellet. Date below. Linear circle at the edge.
Rev: Arabic inscription in four groups divided by four fleurons in a cross, around a six-pointed star in a circle with a central pellet.
Reference: Yeoman, Modern World Coins, Y# 9.2; Lecompte 104-109.
Abd al-Aziz became sultan of Morocco in 1894 as a youth, while the chamberlain Ba Ahmed governed until his death in 1900. His silver continued the reform of Hassan I, struck abroad at Paris, Berlin and London. Ruling alone, he favoured European novelties and a new tax on land and livestock, which provoked revolt, notably by Bu Hmara. Heavy foreign loans and the Algeciras Conference of 1906 put Moroccan finances under international oversight, and his brother Abd al-Hafid deposed him in 1908.
