This handwoven Kelim is characterized by a vivid, graphic design and a very balanced color composition. The center field is dominated by a broad, vertically running area in gray to gray-blue, its sides structured by recurring, sharply tapering color shapes. This creates a clear, rhythmic structure with a modern, almost abstract effect.
Color-wise the rug is particularly versatile. In addition to the gray to gray-blue center field, red, coral red, blue, yellow, pink (rose) and subdued green dominate. The color blocks arranged on the sides alternately intrude into the center and create a dynamic yet harmonious overall impression.
On the two narrow sides, the central pattern is framed by several horizontal stripes. These echo the rug’s main colors and provide a clear finish to the composition. The slightly irregular weave underscores the handcrafted character.
With dimensions of 288 × 192 cm, the Kelim is especially suitable for larger living, dining, or sleeping areas and makes a striking, colorful accent there.
