This handwoven Kelim from Turkey is characterized by a particularly modern, almost graphic design and a strong light-dark contrast. The surface is defined by dark gray to anthracite and cream to light beige.
Especially characteristic is the irregular transition between the two color areas. Numerous fine horizontal lines interlock and create a frayed, almost blurred-looking texture. This results in a dynamic, abstract pattern, even though the rug completely omits classical ornaments.
The left side appears noticeably darker and denser, while the design gradually lightens toward the right side. This asymmetric color play gives the Kelim a modern, almost artistic effect and makes it particularly interesting for minimalist or purist interiors.
