Glass sculpture shaped like a teardrop by Svaja (Lithuania), dating from 2000–2010, in as-new condition, 13 cm high with a 8.5 cm square base, made of glass, and usable as a collector’s paperweight, featuring a satin exterior with hand‑polished circular windows and an inner submerged core with green‑yellow tones above ruby red tones.
Description from the seller
drop-shaped sculpture (also usable as a collectible paperweight) made by the prestigious Venini glassworks in Murano.
The work is distinguished by a complex multi-layered workmanship that creates magnificent optical effects:
Exterior: The main surface presents frosted glass, enriched by large circular 'lenses' ground and hand-polished that serve as transparent portholes.
Interior: Through these smoothed windows one can see an extraordinary inner core made with the 'sommerso' technique. The design features vivid green-yellow tones in the upper part and ruby red in the lower part, separated by a ring of transparent crystal and enriched by a delicate treatment of submerged bubbles (bubbling effect) around the red sphere.
At the base of the object the acid-etched signature "Venini" is clearly visible.
