Description from the seller
Hooykaas – Oval Silver Serving Tray – 835 Silver – Schoonhoven, The Netherlands – 1972
This elegant oval serving tray was crafted by the renowned Dutch silversmith Hooykaas of Schoonhoven, one of the Netherlands' most respected silver manufacturers. Made in 1972, it bears the Dutch date letter M, the Lion II hallmark for 835 silver, and the maker's mark HH (Hooykaas).
Designed in a refined Modernist style, the tray features a broad mirror-polished surface. Its understated, minimalist design makes it suitable for both contemporary and classic interiors. The clean lines and restrained elegance are characteristic of Dutch silver design from the late 20th century.
Originally intended for serving cocktails, wine, champagne, coffee, tea, pastries or hors d'oeuvres, it also makes an impressive decorative centrepiece for a dining table, sideboard or bar.
The tray remains in good vintage condition, with normal light surface scratches and a few small spots that could not be fully polished away, consistent with careful use over the years. Please study the photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the description.
