Description from the seller
Set of 2 Vintage Tin Toy Tanks - Toy Hero "Super-X" Turnover Tank & Marx "M-25 Turnover Tank" - Japan/USA - 1950s/60s
Offering a beautiful, nostalgic set of two mechanical army tanks made of lithographed tin (tin litho) from the golden age of tin toy industry (1950s/60s). This set includes two iconic models with unique mechanical features, each with its own historical charm.
1. Toy Hero (Japan) – "Super-X" (X-81) Roll Over Tank
• Manufacturer: Toy Hero (Made in Japan)
• Period: About 1950s–1960s
• Mechanism type: Wind-up (Clockwork / Wind-up)
• Operation: This ingenious tank moves forward a short distance, after which a hidden lever on the underside deploys a mechanism that makes the tank spectacularly roll over onto its back (roll over), then resumes its journey.
• Condition: Very nice aesthetic condition with bright lithography. Light signs of aging appropriate for the age.
2. Louis Marx & Co. – "M-25" Mechanical Turnover Tank
• Manufacturer: Louis Marx & Co. (Produced in Japan / Linemar)
• Period: About the 1950s
• Mechanism type: Mechanical wind-up mechanism.
• Operation: A so-called Turnover Tank. Thanks to the characteristic metal arch underneath, the tank rises as it moves a short distance and then tilts backward and continues on. Equipped with a beautiful, detailed lithography of soldiers at the front and side. Note!! This tank is essentially lifted by a soldier with the turnover!!
• Condition: In good, original vintage condition with authentic patina. The graphics are well preserved.
Specifications and condition:
• Material: Lithographed tin/steel sheet, metal axles.
• Condition: Both tanks are in a nice, unretouched and original collectible state. There are light signs of aging and use (see photos for an accurate impression of the paint and metal, and see the last 10 photos for the operation of the tanks).
• Keys: Supplied with the fixed original wind-up keys!
Shipping:
The tanks are packed with utmost care and sturdiness. Shipping is with Track & Trace code.
