Description from the seller

Gebrüder Kühn – Sterling Silver (925) Cream Jug & Covered Sugar Bowl – Germany – Art Deco / Early Modernist – c. 1925–1935

An elegant and beautifully balanced sterling silver cream and sugar set, crafted in Germany by the renowned Gebrüder Kühn Silberwarenfabrik of Schwäbisch Gmünd. The set bears the German crescent moon and crown sterling hallmark, the 925 fineness mark and the standing lion maker's mark of Gebrüder Kühn, guaranteeing solid sterling silver.

The design is a refined interpretation of the late Art Deco / early Modernist style. The smooth, rounded bodies contrast beautifully with the finely hand-finished vertical fluting around the lower section, creating an elegant play of light and reflections. The geometric angular handles, stepped bases and restrained decoration are characteristic of high-quality German silver design from the interwar period.

Founded in 1860 by Johann Stanislaus Nepomuk Kühn, the company developed into one of Germany's leading silversmiths. Under the management of Gebrüder Kühn and later the Veit family, the workshop became internationally respected for its exceptional craftsmanship, timeless design and outstanding finishing quality. The company remains active today as one of Germany's finest silver manufacturers.

The interior of the sugar bowl is in very good condition. The cream jug features a graceful pouring lip and comfortable handle, making the set both decorative and functional.
