A mantel clock from circa 1850–1900 in régule and black marble in an Art Nouveau style, with a mechanical movement, 31-day power reserve, bell striking, made in France, in good used condition with patina, includes winding key, and measures about 35 cm high, 14 cm wide and 37 cm deep, weighing around 10 kg.
Description from the seller
Stunning and imposing antique Napoleon III / Third Republic era fireplace clock (late 19th century), depicting the classic and sought-after harvest motif (First Sheaf).
The composition rests on a substantial and heavy architectured base in black marble adorned with green marble inlays. It features an elegant female figure in patinated regulé, holding a sickle and a sheaf of wheat, leaning on a drum-shaped case imitating a barrel, topped with foliate motifs and cornucopias.
The white enamel dial with Roman numerals is protected by a bezel in chased gilt brass with pearl-like detailing.
Movement & Clockmaking:
The mechanical movement is marked and engraved directly by the French clockmaker-dealer E. Pannard / Potelleret Successor. These master clockmakers assembled and marketed under their name clock movements from Paris and major French factories. This period-engraved mark is a perfect guarantee of authenticity.
Dimensions and weight:
Length: 37 cm
Height: 35 cm
Width: 14 cm
Weight: Very heavy and massive.
Condition:
Good overall original condition with its patina. The clock is sold with its pendulum and winding key. The mechanism appears to function, but a routine servicing for optimal and durable operation is advisable. Note: normal wear due to time and authentic patina.
Packaging and Transport:
A very heavy and delicate item. Shipping will be carried out with the utmost care, benefiting from highly protected, reinforced, and tailor-made packaging, with strict end-to-end tracking to guarantee secure delivery.
