and an extremely charming, rare and early portable travel gramophone from the renowned Pathé brand, complete with a matching historical record album. This miniature model is an absolute highlight of early portable entertainment technology from the early 20th century.
Manufacturer, Origin & Style
The gramophone comes with the original soundbox featuring the famous cock’s comb logo and the Pathé brand name. The mechanical movement is of high-quality Swiss manufacture, as evidenced by the authentic stamp with the anchor and the red cross (Swiss Made / Trade Mark) on the inside. The style is typically industrial and ingenious from the Edwardian era, designed to combine ultimate portability with mechanical precision.
Materials & Distinctive Design
The case is made of solid wood with a warm grain, fitted with metal clasps and a sturdy leather handle on the side. What makes this object truly special is the clever design: everything fits neatly into and onto the case. Even the crank handle can be neatly clicked into the lid, after which the whole can be closed compactly.
