Wall-mounted spot lamp by AKA (Annaberger Kunstlicht-Apparate), Annaberg-Buchholz, GDR, dating to the 1960s–70s, with a telescoping steel arm (38–58 cm) and a chrome head with a white conical shade and honeycomb-textured aluminum reflector, mounted on a white lacquered bracket and fitted with a cable, inline rocker switch and Schuko plug; in excellent, fully functional condition.
Description from the seller
German Engineering clean and simple.
A wall-mounted spot lamp by AKA — Annaberger Kunstlicht-Apparate, produced in Annaberg-Buchholz, Saxony, in the former GDR. AKA manufactured functional lighting for the East German domestic market during the 1960s and 70s, working within the modernist idiom of the period: clean geometry, engineered details, no excess.
The arm is a telescoping steel tube, adjustable in length and fixed at the wall by a warm white lacquered bracket housing. The head is a chrome cylinder with vertical ventilation slots and a five-hole top plate; it holds a white lacquered conical shade fitted with a honeycomb-textured aluminum reflector that diffuses and directs the light in equal measure. The cable runs along the arm, secured by white plastic clips, and terminates in an inline rocker switch and a Schuko plug.
A rare survivor in excellent original condition. The white lacquer is clean, the metal surfaces bright, the reflector fully intact. It rewards a reading corner, a desk wall, or anywhere a directed but considered light is needed.
