Pair of Vintage Aluminum Champagne Buckets – Moët & Chandon - Champagne Bricout
Produced by Argit (Meaux, France) – 60s/80s
Lot description:
Splendid lot consisting of two iconic vintage champagne buckets in aluminum, superb examples of bar and bistro French ephemera from the second half of the 20th century.
Both pieces were made by the historic and prestigious Argit manufactory, a leading supplier to the top maisons of Champagne.
The original manufacture is guaranteed by the famous circular hallmark stamped on the bottom of both buckets, bearing the inscriptions "MOD MEAUX", the cursive signature "Argit" and the inscription "MADE IN FRANCE".
The lot includes:
1. Moët & Chandon bucket
• Dimensions: Height 21.5 cm | Diameter 19 cm.
• Details: On the front, the famous elegant diamond-shaped black label with white lettering and the distinctive central red seal of the renowned house of Épernay. The label is in excellent used condition, very sharp and well preserved.
2. Champagne Bricout (Avize) bucket
• Dimensions: Height 20 cm | Diameter 19 cm.
• Details: Features on the front the beautiful blue and gold rectangular label of the historic winery Bricout, located in the famous commune of Avize. The central graphic and the golden crest maintain excellent visual definition.
Both buckets are in good vintage condition, structurally sound and free of dents or significant deformations. They show a natural and fascinating patina of time, characterized by widespread superficial oxidation halos, limescale traces and small blooms typical of aluminum left in contact with water and ice.
The Moët and Bricout labels are exceptionally preserved.
