Description from the seller
Authentic fragment of the Bechar 003 lunar meteorite, classified as a lunar feldspathic breccia and discovered in the Sahara Desert in 2022.
A small extraterrestrial sample from the Moon, our natural satellite. The lunar surface is marked by countless craters, formed over billions of years by impacts with asteroids, meteorites, and micrometeoroids. From one of these ancient impact events, lunar material was ejected into space, traveled for an undefined period, and eventually fell to Earth in the form of a meteorite.
Bechar 003 belongs to the group of lunar feldspathic breccias, rocks composed of mineral and lithologic fragments welded together by violent impact events. The sample presents a thin and irregular shape, with a dark gray-black section, small mineral specks, and a lighter area along the edge, with white-creamy tones and a slightly brownish-rust hue.
Although small in size, it carries enormous significance: a true portion of the Moon, tied to the geological history of our satellite, to its craters, to lunar dust, and to the large cosmic processes that have shaped its surface.
The fragment is presented in a small display case with dedicated graphics, ideal for meteorite collectors, astronomy enthusiasts, and lovers of extraterrestrial materials.
