Vintage porcelain half doll (1900–2000) in a green outfit with a green hat, fabric skirt and cream lace, representative of its early 20th‑century style.
Description from the seller
Antique Porcelain Half Doll – Green Hat and Costume – Original-Style Fabric Skirt with Ornate Lace – Marked FOREIGN
A charming antique-style porcelain half doll, beautifully presented with a full emerald-green fabric skirt and elaborate cream-coloured lace decoration.
The porcelain lady wears a fashionable green hat decorated with a small pink flower, a matching pale-green jacket and a delicate red bow at her neckline. Her softly painted facial features, rosy cheeks, curled blonde hair and graceful hand positioning give her an attractive and elegant appearance.
The porcelain figure is clearly stamped FOREIGN on the back.
Decorative Skirt and Lacework
A particularly attractive feature of this example is the substantial green fabric skirt, which is gathered around the porcelain figure and finished with an elaborate cream-coloured lace overlay.
The lace features an intricate openwork floral and geometric pattern, creating a decorative skirt with considerable visual appeal.
Unlike a conventional soft, stuffed pin cushion, the structure beneath the fabric feels relatively firm and may contain cardboard or another rigid supporting material.
The skirt has deliberately not been dismantled or opened, in order to preserve the construction and avoid unnecessary damage to the fabric and lace.
The underside is covered in pale fabric, with visible stitching and signs of age consistent with the nature of the piece.
Measurements
* Total height, including skirt: 15 cm
* Porcelain half doll height: 6.5 cm
* Overall width: 8 cm
* Overall depth: 8 cm
* Marking: FOREIGN, clearly visible on the back
Condition
The porcelain half doll is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or repairs reported.
The hands, hat and delicate porcelain features are intact, and the original-looking painted colours remain attractive.
The green fabric and decorative cream lace are well preserved, with some natural age-related wear and discolouration to the lace and underside.
The internal structure has not been inspected, as dismantling could damage the piece.
Collectability
Porcelain half dolls were popular decorative accessories during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, frequently incorporated into pin cushions, dressing-table ornaments and sewing accessories.
This example is particularly appealing for its coordinated green costume, attractive facial detailing, intact porcelain hands and elaborate lace skirt.
A delightful addition to a collection of antique porcelain half dolls, vintage boudoir accessories, decorative sewing antiques or miniature porcelain figures.
Offered as one complete porcelain half doll with attached fabric and lace skirt.
Please examine all photographs, which form an important part of the condition description.
