Description from the seller

Phoenician Glass Malta – Large Multicoloured Art Glass Paperweight

A striking and substantial hand-blown art glass paperweight by Phoenician Glass, Malta, decorated with an exceptionally rich combination of blue, turquoise, white, amber, yellow, green and red glass.

The paperweight has a distinctive sculptural form, with a rounded, bulbous body and a raised spherical upper section, all formed as one continuous piece of glass. The interior contains elaborate flowing and feathered glass trails, creating an almost landscape-like composition.

The lower section is dominated by layers of blue, turquoise and white glass which produce a highly effective wave or sea-like effect, while the upper area contains dense multicoloured trails and inclusions with striking variations in colour and texture.

The piece is particularly attractive when viewed against a light source, revealing the considerable depth and complexity of the internal glass decoration.

The underside is engraved "Phoenician Malta", identifying the maker as Phoenician Glass of Malta.
