Vico Magistretti designed the Oluce Lyndon 450 metal and glass chandelier, original from the 1970s, with a 90 cm diameter and 190 cm height, four glass globes, in excellent condition and in working order.
Description from the seller
Vico Magistretti for Oluce “Lyndon 450” – Original from the 1970s
Large-format design lamp with metal frame and four transparent glass spheres. Diameter about 90 cm. Very commanding presence over a dining table or in the living room.
The Lyndon series emerged during a phase in which Magistretti clearly reinterpreted historic forms. Inspired by classical chandeliers, he reduced their ornamentation to an elegant, architectural structure made of metal and glass. The result is a fixture that uniquely combines traditional elegance with modern sobriety.
Important:
The lamp offered here is an original from the 1970s—not a later reissue from the more recent Lyndon collection that has been brought back into production.
It is precisely the early versions that are today noticeably rarer and particularly valued by collectors of Italian design classics. They embody the authentic spirit of the late 1970s and stand for the high craftsmanship of that era’s Oluce production.
Vico Magistretti is one of the defining designers of postwar Italian design. His works are represented in international museums and are characterized by timeless elegance and constructive clarity. The Lyndon series is a beautiful example of his ability to translate classical typologies into a modern design language.
