Description from the seller
For sale: a complete gala set in excellent condition (quality "reestreno" / New Old Stock) from the official inauguration of the Iznájar Reservoir (Córdoba), dated June 1969.
It is an original high-representation institutional historic piece, minted by the Ministry of Public Works (MOP) and the Guadalquivir Hydrographic Confederation (CHG) for the high authorities and engineers attending the inauguration ceremony.
The gala set includes:
- Large medal (Desk Plaque): Diameter 8 cm and an exact weight of 207 grams. Made in high-quality solid bronze. The reverse shows a detailed relief of the reservoir and the dam with the inscription “Embalse de Iznájar Junio 1969”. The obverse features a central allegorical figure and the coats of arms of the provinces in the basin (Córdoba, Jaén, Málaga, etc.). Impeccable condition, no wear or loss of relief.
- Green institutional case: Original period box with green velvet exterior and white satin interior.
The clasps are preserved in perfect condition.
Official gala medal with ribbon (to wear): Miniature medal for lapel/uniform with its national tricolor ribbon (red-yellow-red) and a gold clasp. Includes its elongated protective box (white and blue).
- Technical book / Official documentation: Original explanatory brochure printed by the Directorate-General of Hydraulic Works. Contains project plans, detailed maps of the reservoir capacity, photographs of the construction process, engineering data, and the project section list. Pristine paper, no folded corners or rust stains.
Technical data of interest:
- Year of issue: 1969
Material: Struck bronze
Context: Inauguration of what was the largest dam in Andalusia at the time.
NOTE FOR COLLECTORS: This is an institutional collection of extremely limited availability. I only have 5 unique sets in the world that preserve the gala ribbon medal alongside the rest of the pack. Once sold, there will be no possibility of replenishment. VIP collectible piece for those interested in Spanish phaleristics, civil engineering, Andalusian local history, or CHG heritage."}{
