Description from the seller

Benelli Leoncino 125cc year 1951

Rear shock absorbers are telescopic and adjustable (only in the first series).

Single-cylinder, 2-stroke, air-cooled engine.

Motorcycle fully preserved; original paint. The ignition coil has been replaced. The inner tubes and the front tire have been replaced, the carburetor has been overhauled and cleaned. Following these workshop interventions, the bike has remained stored in a protected environment since 2020. Maintenance and restoration work may be required.

The Leoncino, as per the chronological extract, had only one owner and is deregistered from the PRA (Public Vehicle Registry) in 1988 for non-payment of duties.

The documentation set is complete: license plate; registration certificate; supplementary sheet; chronological extract; Motor Police (Polizia di Stato) clearance for the plate not involved in any report. (see photos).

Historically, it is worth noting that this Benelli model followed the “Letizia 98,” the first light motorcycle produced by the Company after the war years. It is useful to quote, as it appears in the Motociclismo Magazine of 13 October 1951 - pages 33 / 34

“… As we have said, the frame remained unchanged, except for the quality of the tubes, which, subjected to greater load due to the brilliant performance of the 125cc engine, are now chrome molybdenum steel…”.

The chrome-molybdenum alloy was subsequently (many years later) used by Moto Guzzi for a limited series of the V/7 Sport: the famous red frame.

The motorcycle is sold as a collectible object, not currently road-eligible for free circulation due to lack of functional and documentary requirements.

The motorcycle is transferred and delivered in its current state of preservation, at its storage location in Rome. The organization, costs, and responsibility for any possible shipment of the vehicle and its accessories are borne by the purchaser.

Delivery of the vehicle directly to the buyer (Italian or foreign) or to the appointed courier will take place only after the parties sign, in Italian or English, the sale deed, accompanied by copies of valid identification documents.
