Description from the seller
Double-sided silver reliquary pendant with multiple relics – 18th century
An antique hanging reliquary, probably from the 18th century, preserving under glass a composition of numerous relics, accompanied by their old handwritten tituli and arranged in a decoration of paper filigree and fine metal threads wound around a small central figure of the Virgin.
No human remains
On the reverse, an old devotional painted image represents a shaved clerical saint, probably Franciscan, possibly Saint Anthony of Padua. The aged condition of the image does not allow for a definite identification.
Silver mount, adorned with a festooned border and a twisted decorative motif around the rim. Suspension bail.
Age-related condition with patina, wear and alterations to the papers in keeping with the age of the object. The ensemble is evidently old and has been preserved without restoration.
The photos are an integral part of the description of the objects and complement their presentation. They allow you to assess their condition and features. Please examine them carefully before any bidding.
The object will be carefully packaged and shipped with a tracking number to ensure fast and secure delivery.
Happy bidding
In accordance with canon law (can. 1190 §1), this sale concerns the reliquary only as a sacred art object. The relics it contains are not the subject of the transaction, but are included gratuitously for their historical and cultural value.
