Description from the seller
Cymatoceras Nautilus – 19x22 cm / Circumference 63 cm – Albian
Description
Proudly offered: an exceptionally large and heavy fossil of a prehistoric Nautilus, belonging to the genus Cymatoceras. This impressive masterpiece of nature comes from the Albian (Early Cretaceous, about 113–100 million years old) and was unearthed from the rich fossil fields of Madagascar.
Weighing 5437 grams and with a circumference of 63 cm, this is a rare, robust specimen. Unlike ammonites, fossilized nautiluses are much rarer, making this piece a valuable investment for the serious collector or an exclusive focal point for a luxury interior.
Unique features:
Characteristic flame pattern: The surface showcases the fabulously beautiful, wavy 'flames' and growth lines in rich caramel, amber, and cream tones
Shipping & Costs:
This precious object is packed with utmost care and padding. Shipping is conducted exclusively by registered mail and is 100% insured. Any customs duties and/or other additional costs outside the Netherlands are entirely the buyer's responsibility.
