Description from the seller

Very fine antique 19th-century French clock, richly executed in bronze and decorated with beautifully hand-painted porcelain panels in Sèvres style.

This exceptional timepiece was manufactured by the renowned French clockmaker Constantin-Louis Detouche (1810–1889), whose hallmark is also affixed to the clock.

Detouche was one of the most prominent French clockmakers of the 19th century. He was awarded the French Légion d'Honneur and also received a decoration in the Danish Order of the Dannebrog. Additionally, he was the clockmaker of the city of Paris and supplied clocks from his prestigious firm to the court of Emperor Napoleon III.

The Detouche firm was among the most important and successful French producers and merchants of high-quality timepieces in its day. This beautiful pendulum clock thus makes a fine example of the craftsmanship and the refined decorative style for which the house Detouche was known.

Dimensions: 35 x 17 x 13 cm.

All our clocks have been fully overhauled and are in excellent condition. Of course they run properly and are supplied complete with pendulum, key and our guarantee of good operation.
