AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Lot of 2 old medical advertising boards – Maux & Images Collection – Alcoholism

Selling a set of 2 boards from the collection “Maux & Images – The Art and Advertising of Medicine 1893-1993,” devoted to the history of medicine, pharmacy, and medical communication.

Both boards come in their original folder.

The lot includes:

Board 3/20: “Le Vin Désiles – Cordial Régénérateur”
Reproduction of an old late-19th-century advertisement for Vin Désiles, marketed at the time as a regenerative cordial.
Illustration attributed to Francisco Nicolas Tamagno, circa 1898.

Board 6/20: “Alcoholism – The Future of Alcohol”
Reproduction of an early 20th-century anti-alcohol educational poster, produced by Gustave Philippon and Dr. Paul-Maurice Legrain.
A particularly interesting document on the history of alcoholism prevention and public health.

These boards were part of a collection of 20 documents devoted to a century of advertising and medical iconography.

1990s edition, given at the time to health professionals within a pharmaceutical promotion framework.

Overall good condition for its age. The boards are well preserved, with colors still very present. The folders show some signs of handling and use visible in the photos.

Note: these are reproductions of old documents and not original 19th-century lithographs.

Ideal for:
- collectors of antique advertising,
- doctors or pharmacists,
- medical collection,
- history of alcoholism,
- office decor,
- old pharmaceutical posters and documents.

Sold only as a lot.
