AI-assisted summary
Description from the seller
Front: ✶ [cornetist] ✶ / VOC monogram / 1790
Reverse: Crowned Gelderland provincial coat of arms - IN DEO • EST • SPES • NOSTRA
Material: Silver 910/1000 Ag according to XRF measurement
Weight: 3.10 grams
Reference: Passon 11.9
Quality: VF with corrosion (possibly tested with acid on silver)
Extra info
In the literature there is NO mention of a silver strike, yet this coin, in accordance with the XRF measurement, shows the correct silver content (also on the discolored parts). Our suspicion is a later casting/reproduction in silver. Extremely curious.
This lot is offered in our special SSA Numistrust selection auction; this special semi-monthly auction ends after the weekly auction on Tuesday.
This special Single Seller Auction includes the Netherlands, VOC, and overseas territories.

Seller's Story
Numistrust | The Numismaat originated from a passion for numismatics that has existed for more than 15 years. We focus on world coins of higher quality, rarer specimens, and precious metals. Personal service, honest descriptions, and professional handling are our top priorities. We regularly collaborate with MuntMarkt for the services related to grading and certifying coins, so we can support our customers in that area as well.
Besides Catawiki, we are active on LastDodo. In the future our offering will be expanded further with gold and silver bullion coins and additional sales channels, including eBay.
Our goal is not to be the largest supplier, but to become a reliable partner for collectors who value quality, honesty, and personal service.
We wish you much success and enjoyment in bidding!
With numismatic regards,
Numistrust | The Numismaat
