Description from the seller
Beautifully designed and stylish Wiskemann bowls.
Footed bowl with a diameter of 23 cm, height 14 cm.
Low bowl with a diameter of 23 cm, height 5 cm.
Trademark Wiskemann + 1 6
Otto-Léonard Wiskemann (1852–1909) settled in 1872 in the heart of Brussels and specialized in the production of silver-plated white metal for the hospitality sector. Around 1890 he built a new workshop in the impasse du Val des Roses.
He combined technical craftsmanship from Switzerland with the refined taste of the Belgian and French markets. His company grew into a renowned producer of silver-plated and solid silver cutlery, pots, bowls and tableware components.
Wiskemann worked extensively for the upper bourgeoisie, hotels and the hospitality industry, and his silver-plated pieces were seen as a good alternative to solid silver — but with long durability and a stylish design.
