Silver half riyal minted in 1374 AH (1954), during the reign of Saud bin Abdulaziz, second monarch of Saudi Arabia. It features an elaborate Islamic-tradition design, characterized by Arabic calligraphic inscriptions distributed in concentric circles, surrounded by delicate vegetal motifs and an ornate dotted border. The composition stands out for its elegance and for the absence of figurative representations, following the artistic conventions of Islamic numismatics. A piece in excellent condition, with well-defined relief, carefully preserved surfaces and attractive original luster, accompanied by a delicate silvery tint. An interesting issue from the early years of Saud bin Abdulaziz's reign, especially notable for its high quality of preservation and its attractive traditional design.
